Region 5 Youth - Officer Bios:

Hannah Hiiva - Director

My name is Hannah Hiiva, I have been showing for 7 years and have been on the youth board for 4. I own a purebred Arabian named Zaiden and we show with N Joy Arabians. Outside of showing horses I love photography and am involved in FFA and ASB at my highschool. I look forward to another year on the youth board and want to continue to encourage youth to step out of their comfort zone and discover the wonders of the Arabian horse.

Penelope Cox - Vice Director

Hi, my name is Penelope Cox. I am excited to be this years vice director! I am 16 years old. I have been showing Arabs for 3 years. I own a purebred Arabian mare named Remarkably Hot KM (Remi) that I show with N Joy Arabians. I mostly show in hunt seat and recently started doing some western and English trail. Most of my time is spent at the barn but when I have any free time it is usually spent being outside. As vice director I hope to bring more connections and inclusion with the youth.

Miley Defalco - Secretary

Hi! My name is Miley DeFalco, I am very excited to be the Region 5 youth secretary. I am 16 years old. I have been showing Arabians in region 5 for the past 7 years! I own 2 Half Arabian mares, Pretty Little Liar (Aria) whom I show in Hunter pleasure and equation and Xtreme Enchantment++/ (Princess) whom I show in western pleasure, and I ride with Moon Shadow Performance Horses. Outside of horses, I like to hang out with my friends and play with my dogs! As the Region 5 Youth Secretary I am hoping to make a difference and get people more involved in our youth.

Emelia Obermeyer - Treasurer

My name is Emelia Obermeyer, and I am 16 years old. This is my first year on the youth board. I have been riding for 14 years and showing in Region V for 4 years. I own a purebred Arabian named Rosies Alliance (Rosie), whom I show in Dressage, Western Dressage, SHIH, and SH Hunters, and I show with Kim Lacy . Outside of horses, I wrestle and run track, and I am involved with my class cabinet. I am so excited to be the 2025 Region V Youth Board Treasurer!

The Arabian Horse Association's Region 5 encompasses Alaska, Washington, Northern Idaho, and Western Montana. Region 5 has earned the respect of Arabian horse competitors across the country. Whether for show, endurance or dressage, horses from the Pacific Northwest are among the best in the nation.
