About Region 5

The Arabian Horse Association's Region 5 encompasses Alaska, Washington, Northern Idaho, and Western Montana.

Region 5 has earned the respect of Arabian horse competitors across the country. Whether for show, endurance or dressage, horses from the Pacific Northwest are among the best in the nation.

The quality and caliber of our Region 5 horses are evident by the results of highly competitive shows such as the U.S. Nationals, Canadian Nationals, and Scottsdale.

enduranceRegion 5 Arabian Horse Association - Endurance High Point Awards - 2018 Winners

 

This award recognizes all Purebred and Half-Arabians registered with the Arabian Horse Association that complete over 200 miles within Region 5. The rider and horse owner (or lessee with a signed lease) must be a current member of AHA and have a current competition card.

You receive 1 point per mile for any completed distance (AERC and EDRA rides will count within Region 5) and a bonus of 25 points for the Regional 50 mile Championship. Everyone with 200 miles or more will receive a year-end achievement award and the top Purebred Arabian and Half-Arabian will receive high-point awards.

 

 2018 Region V Half-Arabian Endurance High Point Champion

Jeff Loe and Half Arabian Hillcreek Pyro +/ from Trail, Oregon took top honors in the 2018 Region V Half Arabian Endurance High Point Championship. Jeff and Pyro were also the Half Arabian Regional Endurance Champions at the Creek to Capitol Peak Championship held at Capitol Forest, Olympia, Washington on 22 June 2018. We look forward to seeing more of this special team on the trails in 2019.

 2018 Region V Arabian Endurance High Point Champion


Jody Shumway and Arabian Worth Five from Port Orchard, Washington took top honors in 2018 Region V Arabian Endurance High Point Championship. This is the second year in a row for this amazing duo. Worth Five also received 1st place Arabian at the Regional Endurance Champions at the Creek to Capitol Peak Championship held at Capitol Forest, Olympia, Washington on 22 June 2018. Huge congrats to this amazing team.


Carlene Benson and Ramsey BD from Salem, OR was a close second in the Endurance High Point Championship. Look for them to stay in the chase in 2019.

The regional championship race was a close between 1st place Worth Five and Pacific Northwest Endurance Rider President Kristen Grace on her stallion HCC Elessar +/ (aka Monster) from Powell Butte, Oregon. Monster took the coveted Best Condition award at the 2018 championship. We look forward to seeing more from this team.
